Blog 8: English Language Challenges Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well, Daniela here! Before starting this last blog, I would like to wish you a successful end of semester, there is not much left! Today I am going to tell you about my experience with the English program at the University. I’ve have two experiences (the first one face-to-face, and the most recent, online) I will concentrate on giving my opinion regarding the last experience; online classes,   it has been mainly good, in the classes we reinforce oral and written skills on general or political issues, to develop writing skills we write blogs of various topics, I generally like to write them since they are entertaining topics and it helps me not to forget how to write in English lol I need to improve my pronunciation a lot, it is a great challenge for me since I am generally ashamed to pronounce it out loud, I can understand it when I read it, but it is still difficult for me to pronounce it. I think on...

Blog 7: Changes of my study program.

Blog 7: Changes of my study program. Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. Daniela here! today I'm going to talk about the changes that I would to implement on my career. First, with respect to the curriculum I would like to change some things, although I consider that the curriculum of Public Administration is quite complete (and recent), it is always good to change certain things, like to include an international studies subject or studies in leadership in public services. Regarding the workload, I would like it to be the same but in a more structured way, that is, not to ask for much homework at once. About the length of studies, maybe to cut some years and have a total duration between 4 years and one more year to do a Master program.   With regard to the faculty facilities, I would like it to be more accessible for people with reduced mobility (it does not have an elevator), so I would like it to be much more inclusive for those who may require it. In any case,...

Blog 6: Time travel to the future

Blog 6: Time travel to the future Hi everyone, Daniela here again. Today I’m talking about time travel to the future. Well, if I had an opportunity to go to the future, I would like to go the place where I grew up (or other parallel universes as Rick and Morty) and walk the streets that I see daily, it would be very surprising see the changes, maybe nature taking over the place or completely the opposite (which would be very sad) with the native forests eradicated.  I would like to go to in mid-September, when the flowers bloom, the sun shining in the sky, new leaves sprout on trees, the air is humid and comforting and see if the colors of spring remains in time.  I think that I would not like to stay there, because I simply want to live life in the times that correspond "linearly" (I know that time displacement is not linear but I hope you understand my idea), I don't want to "self-spoiler" myself, you know, anticipatory information that could hurt me emotiona...

Blog 5: Future Job

Imagen
Blog 5: Future Job I would like to have a dynamic job in which I can provide solutions for the society using what I’ve learned in my discipline (Public Administration) this means that I would like that my job has the possibility to make profound changes. I would like that my job carries out as much administrative and field work, but I prefer field visits.  I hope to travel a lot, to places that allows me to know other realities, new ways to resolve public administration’s problems, places that also, help no increase my curiosity, an skill that the OCDE recommend that is also related to innovation. It refers to the ability to search for data, cases, problems and processes, identify approaches that work in other places and adapt them for the project itself, which entails actively exploring beyond everyday life and comfort. This behavioral competence is defined in the OECD innovation guidelines. I would like a good salary, that allows me to live comfortably, you know, not be in...

Blog 4: Post-Graduate Studies

Hi everyone, Daniela here. Today I'm going to talk about my plans of postgraduate studies.  I have considered study in a master’s program when I finish my current degree, I don't know if immediately or after a few years. I would like to study subjects related to the Public Policies, Public Health or Gender Studies. The truth is that there are many things, so it is difficult to choose just one in these moments. I would like to study outside of Chile, because I'm interested in the dynamic of learning in other countries, like France or Spain.  I think that studying in foreign countries can add many new experiences due to culture, languages, even maybe a different way of doing things. I hope to achieve it in some moment of my life. In the same way, I would like to study in Chile, at the graduate school of the Institute of Public Affairs of the University of Chile or at the University of Valparaíso, I like both options, but I’m more interested to study outside of Chile. Regardin...

Blog 3: TV Series

Imagen
Hi everyone, Daniela here. Today I'm going to talk about TV series. Currently I'm watching Blindspot in Netflix 😊 . Is an American crime drama television series. It has 100 episodes! The series centers on a mysterious tattooed woman who has lost her memory and can’t remember her name or her past, the interesting part starts when the FBI discovers that each tattoo represents a clue to a crime that they have to solve, crimes that involves corruption of the US government and the FBI itself. I watch the series in my spare time at work (sorry not sorry haha)  The platforms streaming that use to watch series are Netflix, HBO Max, or Crunchyroll (for anime series), although due to my limited free time I do not use them frequently. The series that I watch more than once is NANA, an anime series, broadcast in Japan on NTV channel. Nana for me is a very important series, since it is very nostalgic for me and for some reason, It takes me back to my adolescence.  I would like ...

The Best Vacations that I had.

Imagen
A big hello to all! I'm Daniela and today I'm going to talk about the best vacations that I had until now. These vacations were recently, in 2021 winter break, I visited Pucón (ninth region of the Araucanía, Chile).  I went with my BF and we were around there like one week. It was a very relaxing and peaceful vacation. We went to the lake, we ate delicious food (the only bad thing is that it was very expensive u_u). We walked a lot and it was very fun to know the surroundings of a wooden city (as a curious fact the municipal regulations in Pucón require that at least 50% of the materials of the buildings to be stone or wood) that caught our attention a lot. So far it has been the best vacation because it was the first one after a long time in confinement since the pandemic for COVID-19 (we were already vaccinated and PCR negative) with my partner in a countrified city, I was enchanted by the beauty of the town. that's all, see you!
